Dear Friends of the Lake City Humane Society
Almost 4,000 dogs and cats are lost or surrendered every year to our shelter and some face imminent death. In order to help these animals, the Lake City Humane Society needs to improve animal adoption rates, provide more spay and neuter services, expand our rescue efforts which in turn will lower animal euthanasia rates.
We are facing a crisis – an animal shelter that is ill repair – electrical that needs rewiring; 2/3’s of our lights do not work; old kennels that need replacing and so on. The management at Lake City Animal Protection and Resources Center are committed to building a brand new spay/neuter/wellness clinic and adoption center with a grooming area. We will name this building ‘The James Montgomery Animal Wellness Center’ after the man who has been our St. Francis for many years. This facility will also provide low-cost vaccinations, wellness checks, and microchips for low-income residents of this County that cannot afford the costs of a regular Vet service. We believe it will provide a positive impact on the amount of cats and dogs now roaming the streets, businesses, and homes throughout Columbia County.
In order to accomplish this mission, I need your help. I need you to support me in my effort to help the Lake City Humane Society continue their vital work. Will you help me improve the living conditions of countless homeless animals? My personal goal is to raise $150,000 which will begin construction and put the new clinic in operation.
